About Alexandra |
Message from the PrincipalDear Alexandra Families, I would like to extend my sincerest thank you to everyone who has welcomed me to Alexandra school. As the new Principal it has been an extremely positive experience getting to know your children and the Alexandra community. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Jennifer Currie. I have been in the education field for over 15 years, and I most recently have come to Alexandra from Ferndale and Glynn A Green school where I served as the Vice Principal. I am excited to be working with such a creative and dynamic staff that care about building positive relationships with students, parents, and the community to provide children with the maximum support. For the past 2 weeks I have witnessed the staff at Alexandra demonstrate a commitment to deliver a comprehensive academic and social program for every student, every day. This dedication to the students is what makes Alexandra a special place! We encourage parents to be active in their child’s education. There are many ways in which you can support your child’s learning. The use of the agenda’s is a valuable tool for communication between home and school. Also, reading assignments and notes that come home will keep you in touch with what is happening in the classroom and at the school. There will be many opportunities, throughout the year, for parents to help out at Alexandra. I look forward to meeting more parents in our up coming School Council meeting. Please consider coming to the meeting is on Tuesday, October 25 at 6:30pm in the staff room. There will be free babysitting available at the school on the night of the meeting. Finally, please make use of our “open door” policy. If you should have any questions or would like to share your ideas please contact the school or come in for a visit. We hope to see you soon! Jennifer Currie
