What Are Bear Dens?

Alexandra Bear Dens are a way for students in every grade, from JK to Grade 6, to get together and compete as a team throughout the year in a variety of challenges. Challenges include: The Terry Fox Run, Community Care Challenge, Coins for Camp, The Great Pedometer Step-Off and Magazine Sales, among others. The purpose of our Bear Dens is to foster friendly competition among Bear Dens, while still maintaining sportsmanship, positive attitudes, and respect for everyone. Each Bear Den is lead by Grade 6 students who set-up, organize and encourage their team in various intramural activities and challenges. Bear Dens compete for the Grand Championship at the end of the year, where their Bear Den will forever be on display with their championship banner within the school. Bear Paws are earned when students demonstrate positive qualities that are encouraged on a daily basis. We are extremely proud of each Bear Den and their efforts in making Alexandra a “Great Place to Be!”
